To start I have captured the weights of the individual components and summed them up and compared to Vladimir's website. In addition I have started to install the motor and servos in the fuselage. I did have a small issues with the preinstalled motor mount which required me to make and install a different one.

I do have one question about the white 3D printed piece that came with the Plus X. Barry did show me roughly where it goes, but does it get glued into the fuse?

Getting close to first flights. Need to figure out battery solution. I have several Lipos on order to try that should fit. Wiring is done and 1s backup battery works well using 2x MBR1545CTG diodes and a CC BEC 2.0.

I was able to get a few flights in today and it flies great! I tried a few different batteries and found one I like, the Turnigy Nano-Tech Plus 650mAh 4s. This battery with a Neu 1107/2y/6.7 and a 15x10 prop produces ~500 watts. It does require a little down while under power to keep it from trying to go vertical.

To summarize the parts:
Motor: Neu 1107/2Y/6.7
Prop: GM 15x10
Spinner: GM 30/6
ESC: APD 40F3
BEC: CC BEC 2.0 through OnSemi MBR1545CTG diode
Backup Battery: Hyperion G5 1s 320mAh (HP-G550-0320S1J) through OnSemi MBR1545CTG diode
* so two OnSemi MBR1545CTG diodes in total
Rx in Fuse: Jeti R5L
Rx in Wing: Jeti R9
Tail Servos: MKS HV6110s
Flap and Flap/Aileron Servos: MKS HV6110s
Aileron Servos: KST X08H V5
Surface Deflection Settings: Same or close to Joe’s
CG: 98.7mm
Tail Weight: 1 oz
Total Weight: 1348 grams or 47.5 oz

Concerns after 1st flights:

Q for R9 receiver which is the Rx in the wing was down to 30% for a brief moment while at about 400’. The R5L stayed at a Q of 100%. Since both of the R9 antenna are on top of the wing pointed back and up, I do think it might be worth moving one to the bottom of the wing pointing back and down. Even though the setup is dual path I believe right now it is more of two redundant Rxs since I have the serial on the secondary rx which is the R5L set to Ex Bus. To get the MUI and the MVario to both work and be able to reset the MVario I had to connect the MVario to the Ext port on the R5L and the MUI to the Ext port on the R9. I could not get the MVario to work through a 2 port expander and be able to configure it on the DS 24. The other issue is failsafe only works for one of the two receivers. So right now it is setup for the wing to go to about half Butterfly. If I set the Serial Link on the R5L to PPM Positive I can not reset the MVario but the failsafe works and I do get readings from the IMU and MVario.

After three climbs the battery required 267mAh to reach full charge.

I have continued to move the CG back to 105mm and it flies very well. As mentioned in the big Plus X thread it is fairly easy to get ten minutes in from a 200m motor run. After a few climbs on a single pack last Friday morning I used a second pack and did one climb which took 15 secs to get to 200m and the battery took 180mAhr to get to a full charge. That includes roughly a 12 minute flight.

One thing I would like to point out is that when testing several different batteries I came across a Turnigy Nano-Tech Plus 650mAhr 4s that works really well. Most small cell packs I tried were not able to supply 30+ amps while this one does well at about 32 amps and 15.5 volts with a Neu 1107/2Y/6.7 and a GM 15x10 prop.
