New cc controller software (improved govenor)

I just donwloaded the latest firmware from castle ver 1.12. They have changed the rpm ranges to allow for high pole count motors. I have a cc25 and a Mega and can't get my motor to start with any gov setting or atv points. I assume i want high gov since the mega is a 6 pole motor. Hope others have more luck than I.

I downloaded last night too, but havent tried it yet. Still running 1.10, since the 1.11 wasnt so great, i was kinda of scared to hop right into the 1.12 without some other opinions first. Maybe i'll give it a go later, if no one else reports on it.

Well I finally got my controller to arm, It took maximum atv as well as full trim to get it to arm. The good news is that the gov now seems to work well. I am getting about 2150RPM headspeed on my Rex with a Mega 16/15/3 and 2100 3s with a throttle curve of 0,35,35,35,35

35% on the throttle seems a bit low. What happens when you use low governor instead? Can you get the throttle higher? Or does that governor setting just not work?

35% on the throttle means nothing as far as the actual settings are concerned. 35% on the trans. may be 80% on the speed controller.

I had to increase the endpoints of my throttle channel considerably in order for the ESC to arm, and That's why it won't start. I set it to 130 bottom / 110 full throttle stick which calibrated the range to the ESC range.

I tried the new firmware in my little flybarless sub-micro and it actually works. YAY! the heli has a 12 pole CD-ROM based outrunner and previously it wouldn't reach a useable rpm in governor mode.

Anyone know how many poles the Himax 2815 3000 motor has? Mine is working fine but as I have the Link I was thinking of trying the new software.

I just checked out the cc web site. They changed the RPM ranges of the two modes to have a lot wider range. So what might have been 80% in low mode in now 35% in high mode.

The increased range means better support for lots of poles.

Governor low has been working well for me for a while but I'll probably have to switch to high and lower the throttle setting too. Or, just not update the software.

I just setup a larger heli with the 80 and it worked great.

Solid in low gov on 4s with a smooth spoolup.

I just tried it on the Trex with the Align motor that came with it. It worked great! (It did not work with the previous firmware)

My TH curve is 65% which gives me around 2000 RPM. I did a ground testing and the RPM seemed very stable throughout pitch range.

So what's the verdict? I'm running it using fixed throttle with a 35 and a 400DH. I'd like to see what the other modes can do since now they do nothing. Maybe I'll just flash it anyways.
