That thing almost hit me

The ASW-17 was not designed to be an aerobatic plane....The original came to market in 1971 and was a competitive cross country plane.

If it is made in China, or shipped from there, it's no go with me!
Buy American!

Yes, support the many U.S. companies making foam rc airplanes! Transmitters too, only US made from now on.

You can’t avoid it entirely, but you can minimize it. I certainly won’t be buying this for that reason. If that means I never buy another foamy and have to actually build something, I will.

I think it is a very good allrounder : something between a Heron and a FunRay. Certainly better suited for hang gliding.

Speaking of MPX Funray, when I saw the assembly video, I thought I was looking at the Funray. Much of that technology has been copied here. Even down to the "textured" canopy!

I agree and I mentioned this in an earlier post. There seems to be a lot of ideas borrowed from the design and construction of the Funray/Heron/Solius. Learning from the masters of foam planes is no bad thing.

I thought this thread was about the ASW-17? Can we please get back on track?

I agree with sinowace (get back on track). What would be a good fpv system for the ASW-17? Also, a scale canopy would be nice. I like this model. I'll be $$$ one soon.

Like a number of other posters, I'll wait to see its soaring credentials before considering further.
It's wing loading and wing spar design does suggest that it has been designed with aerobatics in mind.
No problem with that but I have an FMS Fox 2.3m, very pretty, reasonably aerobatic but needs a boomer thermal to stay in the air, so don't need another model like that.

I went ahead and put this on my wish list. Possibly with some modifications to lighten things up a bit it could thermal, but in the meantime I like the aerobatic aspect as well.
