Store of Wonder Acro Bipe?

I just visited their store online. They want $16.99 for shipping ONE plane. Is this right? The plane only costs $8.99, how is the shipping twice as expensive as the plane? Is there anywhere else I can get the Acro Bipe? If I can find one I'm going to put a GWS direct drive on it with 7 cells. Is there any videos of this plane flying R/C? Thanks for the help.

IF you have a Hobby Lobby CRAFT store close, check them out. They carry the Funcraft foam planes. I've found one so far that had the Acro Bipe kit.

Thats a No-Go. The closest Hobby Lobby from me is a 4 hour drive. Is the shipping really $16.99, or is that just a typo on the order form?

yes, the shipping is very pricey... I just ordered 3 of them, figured I'd end up crashing them and could use the spare parts, espectially if I build them with ~7oz/ft^2 wingloading... spread out the shipping, the airframes are lousy for rubber power, but REALLY nice to fly rc... 3 for ~$40 shipped sounds good to me!

Store of Wonder has a ups ground 5-7 day for $7.95 - you have to scroll up in the ship charges list.

anyone in the new york city area wanna order some and split the shipping. also, anyone know if any of the other planes are suitable for r/c? I just went to americas hobby center at their new location, nicer cleaner, and he plans on carrying the gws line of products. I tried to talk him into carrying the funcraft line, but said he was too busy getting ready for the toledo show and to talk to him more about it later. he did have a 17.5" foam electric plane for 14 bucks and the cox 29" foam rubber band plane for 13 bucks. I got the electric plane, pict to come. already slit it open and am trying to figure out where to put things. I'm already making a larger wing and am thinking about enlarging the tail surfaces.

Toy's R Us also lists them, I think they're $16. Check the RC Microflight discussion goups, Jason Nowell and others put up a bunch of pics, and I think there's a link to some video. 6 cells is enough for direct drive. Mine ROG's, loops, rolls and flies inverted no problem with 6 220mah mimh's. I had 8 in it but it was too fast.

what may be a possible is the air hogs v-wing avenger replacement wings at 6 bucks for the wing and tail feather. I haven't seen this one in person, so I have no idea, anyone flying an airhog?

A better selection are the Hobbico free flight warbirds. I've got the 18.5 inch P51 ready to go (GWS direct) and the 20 inch P40 is almost done (GWS S1)
