WLtoys A9x9A vs A9x9B

The micro car addition is starting to set in. Can someone explain all the differences between the A9x9 series A and B versions?

I know the B version has a bigger motor but what else?

I like the A version better because it seems more balanced and I will likely replace all the electronics but if the B version has stronger gears or metal gears then I would rather get that.

Youtube is your friend! Tons of vids about it on YT. Also every information you will need in the A979 thread!

EDIT: Consider buying this one instead of any A9x9a/b!

Nordic RC Visions has a great teardown video showing the differences:

I also agree with SilbernerSurfer. I have a A959B and the 144001 , and it is definitely a nice step up compared to the A9x9 series. You'll get better suspension and adjustable links along with CVD axles and a better transmitter.

You also have the ability to move the battery bracket and run 2200mah batteries for more run time.

That being said, the A9x9 series cars are extremely fun and are very affordable. The "B" series are absolutely stupidly overpowered, but that is what makes them fun. Plan on switching to a steel pinion and spur because the stock gears will wear quickly.

Great video. It's very helpful. Thank you. The 144001 does look great. I have always wanted a backyard race course so I thought maybe if I had a 1/18 scale I would be inspired to set one up.

For a race course, I would choose a A9x9! The b is too powerfull i guess! 144001 isnt that much bigger!

The A9x9 seems durable but the 144001 looks like a lot of car for the money so I had to order one, actually two. Ordered one from overseas last week but saw eBay had them shipped from U.S. for only $1 more so got that today since it may be months before I see the one from overseas.

Also discovered the 144001 and A9x9 regular version have transmitters with throttle dual rates so it'll be perfect to turn down the speed for the kids.

Perfect choice to get the 144001! Also perfect to get 2 of them, makes more fun driving around together!

Make vids if possible about your progress!
