Do a search here for BUMP. Many have been built. If it is your first micro try and follow Michael's instructions as closely as possibly. Most of the people that have had problems have changed it to suite themselves. Watch your all up weight and take the time to get the motor and prop he recommends. It is an easy build and a great flyer.

Hi
I was never into modern foam building methods but I now recommend the BUMP to people that ask me about my Minnow. Especially for beginers the foam is more forgiving and easy to work with. It's a very stable design and if you follow Michael's formula you are almost guarrantied a nice flying plane. I used packaging foam and band sawed it to the proper thickness, I think Depron is what's recommended.
And I don't think it's ugly in the least!

The BUMP has been proven many times. Build it....And it will fly.

Actually my own BUMP was made from 4mm styro wall paper backing. Very light and adequately strong. You do need a 1mm carbon spar though. The most robust wing is one made from 3mm depron with some profile sanded into it. This reduces weight too. I think balsa would work well too provided you find decent stuff.
