This tread will never end. Great plane Tim
Here is an evening pic of my one. I've modded the tail with the addition of balancers. Also added 1 inch to the tips of the elevator for better control. Great flier. Have now upgraded the motor to a Hacker A20 S34 on 3sLipos TP480ma on an 8x4 gws HD prop, to say it is over powered doesn't come close.

Cheers Bill.
Just used dayglow spay can paint from a DIY store. Shows up realy well, even into dusk. Have ordered some glow in the dark paint, should be fun.

Mini 3D

Here is a pic of the paint job on my second Mini 3d. I only paint the underside and leave the top side stock.

Great plane Tim

Thanks. I also posted my almost completed Rev 3d V2 trainer along with this assembly tip.

After building two Mini 3ds and a Revolution 3d trainer, all ARF versions I found it much easier to completely assemble the horizontal stabilzer and elevator ( cut hor stab from elev, cut bevels and tape hinge) first then cut the slit in the back end of the fuse keel and key hole for the elev clearance and slide the completed Hor-stab-elev assembly into postion and glue.

see https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...13#post3722516 for post

I only wished I took some pics to show ya....

As part of a "how cheap can you 3D" experiment, we're flying one on the towerpro/BP/whatever 21 turn outrunner. The extra weight means we had to cut the motor mount block pretty short and the motor is wedged back up inside the plane pretty far.

It's more than enough power, and dang, that ugly little motor is tough! The difference in mass between the cd-rom and the heavier motor is quite noticeable, though. It hurts the handling more than a little.

Anyway, great little plane. We have plenty in stock at www.3DHobbyShop.com

The new Hyperion motors are just about perfect for the mini. I've been flying this one w/ the 2205-38 and 8-4 prop on etec 3S 450...AUW 6.4oz. The 8-6 prop is good on 2S with the same motor. Great plane, Tim.

I bought me a mini a while ago and I will be darned it I can get it to fly. I am sure it is my problem because I am not a 3D flyer by any means. Anyhow, I have the plane and want to fly it!!! Where would be a good COG to tame this thing down. I have the rates turned way down right now. Any other tips appreciated too. Thanks!!!!

What are your Exponential rates set at? Do you have dual rates programed? If so, what are throws on High and Low rates? And the last question, where is your CG currently?
