Herelink New Firmware Released

This week ProfiCNC and Hex Aero released the first major update for their Herelink digital FPV system that brings a number of major improvements and features, these include a free custom version of Solex TX.

Digital Long Range FPV Remote System

Herelink is an integrated remote controller, ground station and wireless digital transmission system designed to be used with the Cube Autopilot, Ardupilot or PX4. Herelink allows RC control, HD video and telemetry data to be transmitted upto 20km between the ground station and air unit. The herelink remote controller features custom Solex TX and QGC applications and both the air unit and ground station feature an integrated 8 core SOC for custom application development.

Main Features

Android based smart device with 5.46 inch 1080P capacitive touch screen.
Integrated digital transmission system simultaneously transmitting video, telemetry and control.
Custom Solex TX and QGC ground station software with mavlink support for Ardupilot and PX4.
Dual hall effect self centering gimbals with removable sticks.
1080P HD video with dual digital video inputs.
Dual S.bus signal output for simultaneous control of autopilot and pan/tilt cameras.
6 customisable Mavlink buttons and Mavlink/Sbus hardware wheel.
RC gimbal control on dedicated service independent from Solex TX / QGC.
Tether and share video and telemetry via wifi ground station such as Mission Planner.
Onboard Arm Cortex A53 & Cortex A53 SOC in both air and ground units for custom applications.

Solex TX

This new update for Herelink brings a number of long awaited features including a new custom version of Solex TX by Kelly Schrock, originally designed for use with the 3DR Solo Solex is a power app that offers a simple flight interface with many advanced customisation and planning features for Herelink.

Alongside this other improvements are

Updated QGC to version 3.5.6
New OTA updates via Wifi.
New HereLink Settings App for configuration and calibration.
Mavlink programmable Buttons
App launcher allows advanced users to install self developed / additional applications
Video and Mavlink forwarding now works over Wifi, Hotspot and USB tethering for GS such as Missions Planner.
Airend video recording via external drive with powered OTG cable
Custom configuration options for OEMís and Resellers.


This update also introduces a new activation process for the Herelink firmware, after updating users will be required to input a 16 digit activation key.
New Herelink kits will be provided with this key as part of their package however existing Herelink owners will need to request a key from their reseller by providing their serial number, itís advised you request this before starting the update process.


This is a much welcomed update for the Herelink system and will pave the way for more regular updates in the future with the OTA option as well.
