2.4 m Concorde 4 x BL EDF's build thread!!!!!!!!! its going to be BIG

Well its time to build a monster.

I have seen so many other Depron built jets that I had to do my own.
With inspiration from Air Buzz , Acrored and Shim
There was no reason to doubt the possibilities of Depron.

I have gained a lot of experience / confidence from my first scratch built the Sr 71 black bird (pictured).

The plane is to have 4x brushless 55í( vasa) 60 (alfa) or 65(wattage) not 100% sure yet

I think I will go for the wattage because I already have 4 of them and you get a lot of static thrust from them vs the others. + the vasa 55ís are to $$$ when buying 4 of everything. E.g BL motors , BL speed controllers , Tannic 2450ís 3s , retracts ,servos , lights estÖ the list goes on and the $$$ goes up LOL.

got the retracts and depron so far.

The plane is to have full working gear / retracts + doors just like Acrored and Shimís , fully working nose linked to throttle and flying / landing lights. !

This will be a BIG build and I am currently doing Year 12 so time for building is limited. As always.
But I have the holidays coming up next week so some serious building / progress is to come.

I hope you all enjoy this thread and I
WELCOME any comments , tips , ideas and suggestions. This is as much my thread as yours.
Feel free to post pics and what ever.

ENJOY because I am.

P.S anyone out there who has always wanted to build a jet of their dreams JUST DO IT! Its not that hard and it can be the most rewarding thing EVER.

Just get started thatís the hardest bit.

should be awesome! and totally do-able with that setup. It's really not too much bigger than a Sonic Liner but with more power. cant wait to see it.

thanks guys! the nose will be operational.

i realised last night that the room inside the fuzz isnít as spacious as i had originally hoped. i will just have to work with it.

going to need a LOT of carbon rods to stiffen her up.

small update

her is the first bit done.

might have gone a bit over the top with the number of formers.

what do you think?

much stronger than i thought though i can push really hard onto the top and it doesnít budge. its all in those balsa cross members.

i will have a lot more time next week to get some serious building done.

Hi Paul,

This Will Be HUGE allright!! Your using Wattage fans? with the stock motors or Cobalt's or brushless? I've been thinking of trying a sonic cruiser with two minifans, not as big as yours is by half though. This is going to be a monster Jet

You could probably space out the formers a little bit more, but not much more, all depends on how thick the depron your using for the skin is, thicker less formers, thinner more formers. 2 to 3mm should produce a good rigid skin without that "bag of bones' look to it.

Best of luck!!

yes. The wattage seems to be the go at this stage!
Of course i will use Brushless!!!!!!!! what is Brushed ? LOL

thats what i thought. i will be covering it with 2 mm, easyer to bend.

Best of luck!!
Tom
