Quarantine Scale Build-Off - We Have a Winner!

Quarantine Scale Build-Off

With COVID-19 keeping many of us at home and indoors, the RCG Quarantine Scale Build-Off is under way to fill the time we have on our hands! There are only three rules:

Rule 1. Build-Off entries must be models of real aircraft (or of designs of aircraft that were proposed to be built), ie. "scale" models. "Sport scale" models will be just fine.

Rule 2. Build-Off entries must not have been the subject of a previous build log. Models that are already under way are fine, as long as they don't already have a build log.

Rule 3. The Build-Off Director (me ) gets to settle any urgent issues not covered by Rules 1 and 2.

Since none of us wants to be quarantined forever, the Build-Off will run until July 1st, 2020, but we'll probably need a second wave of quarantine so that'll take us to September 1st. Who knows, maybe we'll need a third wave too...

Entrants should post a link to their build log in this thread.

Build on!

Steve

And the winner is...

The people have spoken, and their choice for the winner of the Quarantine Scale Build-Off is dkane’s beautifully finished (and apparently very fast) Rickey Rat EF-1 pylon racer! Congratulations Dan!

Well done as well to everyone who managed to complete their entry; as Tpfingston remarked in the poll thread there were so many beautifully built models it was a struggle to pick just one as the favourite.

Best of luck to all entrants in finishing their models in the months to come, and please continue posting progress in the Scale Kit/Scratch Built forum.

Extra special thanks to fairweatherflyer for contributing a pair of knit socks as the winner’s prize – Vicki’s obviously a woman of many talents, with a generous heart (and warm feet too, I'll bet).

Stay well everyone, as we continue to weather the COVID-19 pandemic, and keep on building!

Steve, at the end of this, may I volunteer a hand-knit pair of socks for the build I've enjoyed following the most?

Stay away from air edges!

[strike]2m Chrysalis Mk II Electric[/strike]

I have a DJ Aerotech RES kit, the 2m Chrysalis Mk II Electric. This is a fine time to build it.

Scratch that since it's not a scale model.

Well I'll figure something out.
