This plane is one of the easiest planes I have ever had the pleasure to assemble. The DLE-35RA is a perfect fit on this plane as it was designed around it. The flight capabilities of the Extra are unsurpassed in this size. The tail authority allows the plane to tumble within its length. The slow and low performance is predictable and consistent.

With this early production of the v2 plane had only one item that needed addressing, and I know that all further production will be reinforced by the factory. The rudder servo tray was able to move 1/4 inch back and forth, this was cured by one simple reinforcement. At the front of the tray.

One is coming up as soon as I can get my friend to fly the plane. I can't fly and film, and my family that's been out with me can't film.

Skills are a real life problem.

Here is a long awaited video. Stupid covid. Geno was a bit rusty since it was his birthday party the night before, but this shows how amazing the performance of the plane is.

That is why i use my headcam 99% the time. its hard to get someone to video if you fly alone a lot. plus normally my headcam catches my whole flight and up closer then someone else who would be doing a video.

Anyone doing a build and wondering about balancing. This is how I set mine. Its dead neutral at this point. My fingers are on the cross support at the rear of the wing tube.

So the control horns that are glued/expoxy'd in. The 2 smaller sets go on the rudder?

And I also can't figure out how the elevators go on with the magnet system. It's late and I feel dumb at the moment. I imagine it's super easy.

Yes they are epoxied in on mine, I have seen others use different glues but I prefer epoxy. I suggest a complete dry fit to verify the correct placement.

as for the elevator retainers
step one pull pin
step two lift lock
step three put elevator on carbon rod and seat it to fuse
step 4 lower lock in place
step 5 put in pin.

super easy to do and effective, removing them for transport requires disconnecting the linkage if you decide to, I have never needed to as of yet.

Enjoy the build and remember not asking a question and screwing up is worse than any late night stupid question

Thank you. Yes I always use expoxy as well.

Just want to confirm that the shorter control horns go to the rudder before I epoxy them in.

Got the elevators on and there is a little bit of play back and forth on both sides? Normal? Not really liking that. I may epoxy those in. I have no need to remove the stabs

Mine has some movement as well. Sure can't feel it in the air. Try it, if it still bothers you glue it then.
