Thanks and congrats on the flights.

For me the Dynam is very quick and agile. Def comes in hotter when landing. Def faster in the air. Seems more responsive than the FMS. It needed more work right out of the box though to be reliable. Metal gear servos, push rod stabilizers, motor mount reinforcement, larger wheels...etc. For the money though you cant beat it. You can get one for $150 shipped on ebay. Love the looks of the FMS though compared to the Dynam. Big difference in size. Ive got some more dialing in though on the FMS. Still going to up the controls more yet.

Yea, sucks to lose a plane. It was not the stock prop and ESC. My guess is the ESC burned.

Was it the 4258 kv 550 motor and at least an 80 am esc, also what propeller?

I finally got the chance to try the motor/ESC/prop upgrades I did on my Pitts months ago. I'm happy to report that it made a noticeable difference in performance especially vertical. Just to reinforce my impressions, another FMS Pitts owner came up and said "You must have changed the motor!"

I also adjusted the pushrods to give more throw on all the surfaces. The Pitts is a real 'hot rod' now! A buddy did a slideshow on Youtube showing some of the 'Sunday Follies' at Dumb Thumbs R/C Club Field over the weekend. We actually had two different Pitts present - mine and the larger Hangar 9 model.

The FMS Pitts is a decent flyer in stock form but it's even better with a few easy modifications. Thanks for the excellent advice on the upgrades, Bob!

I have a question about the C-rating - they specifically specify 35C which is rather low, most of my 6s packs are 80C and above, one is 60c but 1200mah, the best match I have is a 5500mah 45C (fullymax) is there any danger of overloading the system with such high C ratings?

No danger. Sounds like a good match to give you 7-8 minutes of mixed throttle flying.

A good quality battery 4-5 amp with a 50c rating or better works great. The 4 amp lighter battery gives more spirited flight unless you upgrade the motor and prop. Then it’s almost a rocket ship with great climb and performance.
