I am new to foamies and I have a question, maybe someone can help me?On some aircrafts, wing looks to be perfectly flat. Doesn't a wing have to have some airfoil to fly?

Any somewhat flat surface will generate lift at a positive angle of attack, for example, stick your hand out of the car window in a flat position and hold it at a slight up angle to the wing you can feel the lift on your hand. Airfoils do affect the lift AND drag characteristics so the trick is to find the best one for the job. In the case of low speed FFF/Depron models a flat wing works very well and minimizes construction effort. If you want super high lift/drag ratios for a glider you would go to a secialized airfoil, ditto for some high speed models.
I'm sure other folks will add to this.

I know someone who has a profile A-10, I am not sure if it was a kit or if he built it from plans. It uses two J-250 motors and flies rather well.
