Where to Find REALLY Small Props?

Any idea of where I might find props in the 8mm-12mm range?

I designed my own years ago, but never actually used them. I was still using Kyosho 15mm props, even on my 4" (3.5" hull) builds. The only way to get a "race" prop is to design and SLA print them.

If ultimate performance is not the aim, look at http://towboatjoe.tripod.com/shafts.htm
Copy the prop drawing, reduce it to the size wanted, print it, stick the print to thin brass sheet, cut it out.

Maybe you can steal props off something like this? It's only 15.5cm long overall: https://www.ebay.com/itm/RC-Boat-2-4...QAAOSwilNdzWVc

I'm not after high performance. What I would like to do is convert the Polar Lights "Batboat" to micro-R/C. It's about 7" long.

Take a look at G-factor brass props- they have props in that size range. They are sold as upgrades to 1/350 and 1/200 scale plastic warship kits.
The hard part is that they are sold by subject, not size— so you can buy “1/200 scale USS Arizona props” for example. You’d have to do the research to find the prop diameter of the real ship and do the math to see if it is what you want. Or maybe ask on a plastic ship modeling forum if someone who has the kit can measure them for you. The brass props are direct replacements for the kit’s plastic ones, so a measurement of the original plastic part is all you need...

Perhaps some of the best props available. Sizes down to 5 mm

Do they? I thought 0.5in. (12mm) was the smallest that they made.

I would like to see a 5mm metal prop bath tube scale lol.
The drive shaft must be 1mm?

Best I have on tap is a 12mm all from Harbor Models.
As is they could all use some sharping to improve rpm and
reduce load to the engine. These use 2mm shaft.

page 27.

I know nothing about them except that they are here.

PS Don't Harbour Models import Prop Shop into US so they are the same thing?

You might want to experiment with cutting down plastic drone or aircraft props?

Shown below are a couple of mine (disclaimer: I haven't run them in a boat yet.) You probably need a reamer/broacher to open out the shaft hole and then press fit. The white one (apologies for poor focus on the pic) is a Cheerson CX-10 3-blade prop cut down to 3/8" (9.5mm)

This is a really interesting idea with plenty of potential but a bit of experimentation might be required. The cut down drone props are generating their thrust from a bit of the prop (the bit nearest the hub) which normally, when the prop is used on an drone, does very little. This will probably mean a very large difference between how well different props work when cut down. I strongly suspect that the efficiency of that bit of the prop was not very far up the list of designers concerns.
