OMP Hobby T720 with a DSM2 Rx

OMP Hobby T720 with a DSM2 Rx (1 min 22 sec)

A) Really dont like the toy transmitter
B) oztreecrasher clued me to the Rx being the same as on the S720
C) The board can have 3rd party Rx plugged in

The issue with the T720 is simply reaching the Rx ports on the T720 control board ( PITA )
So I cut a hole in the side of the fuse = Made life easier !

Rx is a DSM2_x Satelite Rx ..
I got a bind in DSMx but no response from the T720 ???? A few more tries and the same result ?
Obviously one had to try DSM2 , and it worked ...

Tx is the Taranis Q x7 with multi protocol module ..
Bind is DSM2_22

Aileron and rudder needed to be reversed ( Direction ) ..
And thats where I am at ..
The foam cut out the side is being glued back in place ..
Also I cut off the foam shelf the battery sat on , may or may not glue it back

But looks like no more factory Tx , Yay !!!!

Hello Old4570
I am dealing with exactly the same issues with this unique airplane. Watched your youtube pieces and am attempting to follow your example. The only difference is having somewhat dated Spektrum DX 7 Tx. Could you detail step by step the process of binding? I was able to insert the cable from the supplied Rx without cutting the access hole but got no further to the final success. DSM2_x Satelite Rx is perhaps the wrong type> HOBBYMATE FPV Racer Quadcopter Satellite Receiver - for DSM-2 DSM-X Radio Transmitter, with Bind Button purchased from Amazon. It looks identical to the one you are using. Can you assist please?

If memory serves, to bind that receiver, you should press the bind button while powering up the receiver, LED should start flashing. Then power up the DX7 in bind mode around 5 feet away. The receiver will start flashing slower then go solid. Once it's solid, it should be bound.

A) I could not get a bind in DSMx mode ...
B) I did get a bind in DSM2_22 without issue ..

The usual way of binding should do the trick otherwise .
But I use multi protocol ..
1) I fire up my Tx and highlight the bind function
2) Then I hold down the Bind button on the Rx and power the model = I usually need help for this as any movement on the button might see a failed bind function start . ( Holding down the button and fumbling with the battery = Fail too often )
3) Once the Rx is in bind mode I just start the bind function in the Tx .
4) In DSM2 the bind was solid ..
5) So turn off the Rx and Tx and start again as normal and it should work ..
