Yippee!

UPDATE: Thanks for setting up my Modified HB, DF Clone.

Here is a update from my previous post of my Jabo II (Hummingbird clone):
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=337354

The project started out to see how far I could take the stock Jabo II 4in1 board without frying it and still perform without any adjustments on the board.

I added a Lipo 7.4v 1200mAh 2cell Lipo battery, GWS EDP-300H motor, Like90 Blades and Head stiffener, DD Tail Kit and 4530 prop with adapter, Aluminum Boom shortened 1 ½”, 4in1 board heat sink on the FET’s, etc…

With a 120 tooth main gear and a 9 tooth main motor gear I get about 15 minutes of flying time per Lipo. Tail motor gets slightly warm, main motor gets warmer, but not hot. Battery is slightly warm after about a 5 minute hover.

There seems to be plenty of power. It takes half throttle (throttle trim all the way down) for a 2 foot hover.
I’m still a beginner so I can’t test the heli to its full potential.

Tail is very responsive and holds pretty well for a cheap 4in1 board. When battery drops below 7.1 volts I have to start using the trim.

I will post a video as soon as I can.

This is the end of this project, my next project will probably be a E-sky Honey Bee CP, then I’ll move on to the big boys.

Thanks again to all.

Novak

minimole,
These packs are generic, I got 2 batteries and charger from rcbeginners on eBay for $39.

They seem to be OK so far.

cheeto,

I purchased the plastic rod end from...
www.mcmaster.com part#:1064K412

I believe the plastic adapter acts as a heat sink with the aluminum boom, because the tail motor is only slightly warm after a 5+ minute hover.
