B3 Charger Question

Hello all ... I am purchasing a Holy Stone HS700 and I read that the charger will take 5-7 hours to charge the battery it is a 7.4v 2800 mAh. Would a B3 charger speed up the charge time? If so is there any particular one I should look at or will any do?

Thank you for reading my post.

I looked at the manual, and this is a PROPRIETARY battery set up, so chances are you are stuck with using USB.

That is also a 50W charger like the ImaxB6, but without the options of the Imax B6...

If it works, it works, but I would not be happy if that charger tried to push 2,8A (charging with 1C, as is common) through those tiny balancer leads...

As the HS700 on board electronics will warn you when the battery is getting low, it'll still have 3,8V per cell and recharging it will be about an hour, depending on how much the charger delivers in 7,4V.

I'd keep an eye on the temperature of the balancing leads during the fist charge(s).

Regards, Jan.

What part of "You are stuck with using USB" did you not understand?

The battery in that aircraft is PROPRIETARY which means the manufacturer used a CUSTOM DESIGN that is NOT SUPPORTED by 3rd party after market battery chargers.

YOU MUST USE THE MANUFACTURER'S SUPPLIED CHARGER.

I'm gonna tell you straight out: If you screw this up the fire from the battery can burn your house down...

Ah No

Don't insult me like that ... I saw it ... understood it ... and told you the B3 are for charging LiPo batteries. You didn't even know what they were now you are an expert on them? Really?. I have seen review videos of the HS 700 and they used a B3 charger because it take 5-7 hours to charge with the charger provided. Thank you for your time.

I was looking for something like this, and couldn't find anything ... I found it through this site ...
https://blog.dronetrest.com/the-best...or-your-drone/
and this is where I can get it ...
https://www.banggood.com/SkyRC-Q200-..._warehouse=USA

This is something I could really use ... I have to do some research on it, but what do you think?

Thanks for reading my post.

that post doesnt really talk about your quad and its unique battery connector... BUT yes the charger you are getting will charge lipos prob.

to get it to work with your drone and its unique battery connector, you will need to modify the quad and the batteries.

like this i guess. not too complicated:
HS700/Bugs 3 Pro - Battery Mod (3 min 54 sec)

id not buy their 40$ batteries tho if you get more in the future, you can get any other brand of 2s lipo in a similar capacity and c-rating.

Id also use xt60 connectors tho just because that seems more common, your new charger will prob come with xt60 connector. also dont forget to get some 2s balance leads to mod your battery.

be safe.

also, old gazer seems to know a bit about the type of quads you purchased... those weird big prop, dangly gimbal drones or what ever you dudes call them. get along people

more edits* so your 4 battery charger is convenient, BUT the review you dug up shows its at least three years old, which should work fine, but two hundred on a charger... kinda a lot for an charger if your just starting. if that things goes bad... that would be not cool.

these and this brand seem to be the hotness right now:

https://www.racedayquads.com/product...CABEgIAbfD_BwE

but yeah theres others that will do a good job. i use an ultra power dual charger that WAS AC/DC but the AC part doesnt work anymore...
*your charger does look pretty dope. hope it works well for you.

Wow Thanks for The Video

I wonder why the guys in the review videos didn't say anything about the batteries having to be modified. I will have to see if I can reach them for an answer. Thanks for that video it will really be helpful to make the modifications.

I bought the Q200 because I can charge 4 batteries at once.
