Medusa Spectrum 50 AMP "Brushed" ESC!

Congrats to Medusa Research on their Spectrum 50 AMP "Brushed" ESC!

I have had 10 flights with this ESC in the Great Planes Super Sportster EP and I did not mess with the default settings and just installed it powering an Kyoshso Endoplasma 16-turn, double wind, Modified Brused motor and two HS-81's and a HS-85MG.

Each and everytime, the music tone comes on indicating the model is ready to fly and on one occasion the music tone did not come on and upon inspection, I found the negative terminal at the motor with a bad cold solder joint. As soon as this was corrected the music continued to play for more flights without any bad characterisitics to report.

This has been the best $39.95 I have ever spent and I am glad that I purchased two!

Here's my thread on the Super Sportster EP at the point when I installed the Endoplasma and the Medusa Spectrum 50 AMP ESC.

Now Now Carlos,

This is not a vendors bashing forum.

Nice work on the Super Sportster EP thread! I enjoyed reading it! I may just have to get an endo yet! I've heard nothing but good about the Medusa ESC's. If they start making any brushless I'll have to give one a try!

I purchased a pair of the 50A brushed ESC directly for ~$40 each directly from Medusa. This is a pretty nice price. They seem about the same size as my Castle Creations Griffin 40A.

I've only had a chance to use one so far in a Multiplex Magister. I have to say that I found the manual very nice indeed. I was impressed with the amount of programmability and how easy it was to setup.

The ESC has worked flawlessly so far, I've flown about 10 flights with it.

I look forward to other Medusa products with this high of quality at such a reasonable cost.

Wonderful ! I too have flown my Spectrum 50 in my Great Planes Super Sportster EP for over 10 flights and nothing bad to report and I have not programmed it as of yet.....it was installed right out of the box!

Where do you get this esc for 39.95? When I check the site they want 60 dollars for it.

Yes, correct, the sale is over...

The above link shows the Spectrum 50 AMP brushed ESC and at $60.95 it is still a good value compared to the Castle Creations Griffin-55 that retails at $72.00 US over in my parts of the woods.

I bought a 50 amp speed controller from Castle about 10 years ago. I want to sell it now with a brushed can type motor with a folding 12.5 inch prop. How much should I ask for? Thanks! Ray.
