Here's my bird...even though she's fiberglassed, her weight came in at ~20oz - 20.5oz. Had to have the extra servo for the cargo bay door. I made the window removeable, in case I have to get in there for any reason. I'm looking to upgrade to brushless or at least 180-250 motors so it can haul cargo.

I am moving on my build.
I am at the point of cutting an installing the plastic tubing for the servo wires. The trouble I am currently having is with the cut lenghts of the tubes. As they are in metric (mm) I need to convert them to Inches, I have a conversion program that I am using that gives me the following conversions; 260mm = 10.24" 235mm = 9.25" 220mm = 8.661" The cut lengths for the rudder and elevators seem short, especialy the rudder. Am I looking at something wrong in the instructions? How much do the tubes extend beyond the end of the fuselage Thanx |

Your conversions are correct
My plastic outers are sliced on the end to look like a quill pen tip and run along the outer fuse surface leaving an elongated end for the wire to feed from, finish looks better also. Hmm don't remember cutting any of the tubes other than that but they need to have 2inches of clearance at the servo end to allow for wire flex. The servo end of the tube should also be secured to give an exact control surface position |

mt flyer,
Tough break man. I hate to see such carnage, but I have had my share. Trust me when I say, it will go back together with epoxy and good puzzle building skills. I should know, I've had to do it both with my C-130 (twice) and my DC-3 (awaiting it's second glue job now). Pat |

I do think it is beyond repair....
there are too many pcs missing... it was kind of cool though, wish I would have had a camera.... We have 2 nesting pairs of eagles on our ranch... one decided he wanted airplane for lunch... usually they don't bother the planes.. well, as you can see he hit it, breaking the wing, only held on by servo lead... spinning to the ground... feathers also flew... |
