More fuselage details ... basic Freewing pilots and cockpit. The intakes & ducting is done here pretty well ...

Standard Freewing y-connector blue box, cleans up the wiring nicely by using neat ribbon cables, and eliminating a rat's nest of y-connectors.

Gear doors, retracts & struts details for future reference ... The massive mains look the same as on the F-4 and L-39.

Freewing finally figured out that mechanical gear doors can work just as well are servo driven ones, with less buzzing and less bec load ...

Front wheel is ~45mm, rear ones ~65mm.

Note the ~5sec delay between flipping the retract switch and the gear going up.

FMS 80mm inrunner motor fan and YEP 150A esc complete, only needed some slight foam dremel work. Some sanding on the intake fairing as well.

Outlet here is ~65mm, have still to measure the intake area.

Standard Freewing blue box installed, consolidates all the servos wiring with a clean ribbon cable. Instead of a rat's nest of y-connectors.

Note that the gear door sequencer chip is not used here, thanks to simple & effective mechanical gear doors.

Btw never had a single problem with any of these nifty blue boxes ...

As in the F-4 and F-22, one slot on the blue box can be used for the front landing light.

Marked the manual CG at 95mm, seems like a sensible conservative starting point ...

On it's feet ... size comparable to my Freewing 80mm L-39.

The higher aspect ratio wing is clearly visible, should make it slightly faster

Had the maiden today late in the afternoon, plus four flights

The weather wasn't that great and only another lost soul showed up at the field ... All videos taken with my phone.

Only needed a couple of clicks of up, one mm down ele comp with flaps, my CG is now ~10mm behind the manual one.

Flies pretty much like a pattern plane (tracks even better than the L-39, which is hard to beat) and lands real slow ... Definitely a winner.

Now I can start the repaint, the decals should be here tomorrow ...

Hi Bob, 4000mAh and 5000mAh Roaring Tops and HRB's ... She is slightly more agile on the 4000's , still 3 to 3.5 mins safe flying with throttle management.

Even 6000's would work, but what's the point

Decals should be here soon ...
