It is too small. In less than 2 seconds it was gone away and not seen anymore in the videos.
It is so lightweight that the wind will blow it away. I do not have a gym to fly in.

The new brushless motor will be useful on many other little indoors airplanes.

If it was larger and heavier using a 2s battery then I would buy one.

Yes, this one definitely emphasizes the ‘ultra’ in UMX.

It’ll be interesting to see the reception it gets and even though I may have no particular interest in it (at this point in time) I’m hoping it does really really well because I want to see the UMX genre make a strong comeback this year.

The side ports on the brick are likely for the optional light set. The programming/update port- wonder if the cable I have for adjusting AS3X orientation on older UMX like P40 will work for this? (P40 had brick on side and you could reprogram to make it for flat orientation)

A,

Too small?????
Wind will blow it away?????

Not at all!

Check out these Ultrix specs vs the UMX (3S) F-27 Evo...

UMX (1S) Ultrix:

Flying Weight: 2.29oz (65g)
Length: 12.9" (320mm)
Wingspan: 13.5" (342mm)

---------------

UMX (3S) F-27 Evolution:

Flying Weight: 3.2 oz (91.0 g)
Length: 13.5 in (343mm)
Wingspan: 17.0 in (432mm)

----------------

@ 3.2 oz, my UMX Evolution is amazing in the wind!

My UMX (3S) Beast 3D @ 2.54 oz (72g) is the best wind machine I've ever flown in my 44 years of RC flying.

Roger

ps...
HH: Thank You for AS3X & UMX!!!

Always have been lurking around, and hoping (like pretty much everybody else) for a new UMX to show up. Planning to stop doing the FPV stuff and going back to my good old regular fleet early spring. The Ultrix is sadly not my cup of tea though, but I have to admit those brushless motors are quite interesting even if it's for smal propellers.... I'm glad to see that Horizon didn't drop the ball on UMX's so I'll wait for the next one while dusting off my old stuff.

It is huge with 342mm wing span. You have not flown the UMX F-16.
Only 295mm wing span, much faster and no SAFE if you out of sight
Add permanent flaps if you to slow

I have a UMX F-16 jet that flies too fast. I tried to sell it but nobody wants it. It is too heavy for its small size. It weighs 80 grams but its maximum thrust (fully charged battery) is only 55 grams.

In the video, the Ultrix did not look like a modern airplane, instead it looked like a foam plastic dinner plate blowing away in the wind.
Indoors it looks great and needs to be covered in bright orange paint.

I like the UMX F-16. For a jet it's not to fast and not to heavy and she looks very scale. The thrust weight ratio is adequate for me. This ia a plane for dynamic flying, not 3D and loops are easy.
A fully loaded big F-16 have not a better thrust weight ratio.

For me it looks always the same indoors and outside and as a non scale plane it does not have to look like a real plane.
Visibility is ok red on the top and black at the bottom. I have also some decal sheets from the X-Vert which i might be able to use.

LOL! Same here! Besides, that's why the the throttle was invented. If it flies too fast, a person can always throttle back...

Regarding the UMX F-16 - I bet my UMX Sbach 3D on a 3s BabbelBatt is at least as fast, if not faster!

This must be the reason why people fly the F-16 on 3s
