these are most likely based on Lithium Mangan technology (look under Konions or Mangan on google or this forum). Great batteries - they can not burn violently (no lithium). They are however twice as heavy than lithium ions. they weigh about half as much as nimh. Usually you can not get them in the US (though you can import them from Europe for a nominal fee. For whatever reason in the US people have not latched on to them (In Germany and UK they are quite popular.) In Europe one cell costs around $10-15. Most likely your 2400mah capacity is a two cell combination - so it should cost around $20 per cell.
there are several different makes of these - some are good for 15C and more (up to 20C and even 50C (very short bursts)). some other makes are only good for 7C. So it depends which ones you have. Also Sony is coming up with a one cell 2600maH cell sometime this summer (supposedly).
let us know what price you are looking at for your cells and if you have any experience on the true C rating.
Regards

The 2400mAh 18650-size cells are low-discharge versions for consumer electronics use. The high-discharge 18650-size cells are typically more in the 1200mAh range. The most readily available version in the U.S. would be the Flion at Diversity Model Aircraft. See the third cell down at the following site:

Good to know about the Samsung cells but I suspect that the OP has found a suitable answer in the past 9 years....

I'll never understand how some of these threads get dragged up.
