easy to build EF-2000 Eurofighter
I nearly finished my flat-Depron built Eurofighter
and I thought I share some pics with you.
My design objecives were:
- as scale as possible (concerning dimensions of wing, fin and fuselage)
- thrust to weight ratio of 1.2 (just like the original )
- good handling qualities esp. at low speed
- low cost, simple design, easy to build
- small enough to be easily transported and stored
I thought, I'd try out some unconventional propulsion design and place the motor on the aircrafts back. Helps saving your props during landing.
Weight: 271g (315g with speed 480 motor)
Thrust: 325g GWS 8x4"(355g with speed 480/ 4blade 6x3")
Length: 71 cm
Wing span: 51 cm
Motor: speed 300 3:1 gear
Battery: Kokam 7.4V 1250mAh, 15C
Misc.: 25A ESC, 2x8g servos
Control via Flaperons and (!) moving foreplanes
I did not test fly it yet since the weather is quite bad and I might have to redesign in order to shift the CG a little more up to reduce pitching moment due to thrust.
Hope to inspire some of you to rebuild and probably to refine the design. I'm realy looking forward for your feedback

I see you linked the elevons to the canard, separating the canard halves. I'm very curious to hear how this works out for you. I had wondered about doing something like this on a hyper delta I've been mulling around in my head. I was thinking it might make it too 'twitchy' but I hope it works. It's a cool idea and the military fighters have their canards independent like this, but they are computer controlled... not direct linkage. So can't wait to hear the maiden report! Good Luck!
EDF would be really cool. I thougt about it as well and got me for test reasons an EDF 50 and an EDF64. To get the desired thrust level you would need two of those which in turn drives up the weight. Would be great to see one flying with EDFs!
you are right. In real life the canard is usually driven independently from the flaperons and its position is a function of angle of attack. To link them to the flaperons was the "chapest" way to make them movable :-). The weatherforecast is prommising for the weekend - hope to be able to give you next time some flight-reports.

OK here is the flight report (a bit late, I admit).
Unfortunately it did not fly nong enough to judge te handling characteristigs.
All I can say is that the power setup was quite good. The Idea of the back mounted prop was not that good because the pitch-down moment was very high. Hand launches were therefore quite tricky.
It behaved very sensitive around the roll axis. Maybe I used too much throw on the elevons or not enough expo on the RC.
In the end it fatally crashed before I could do the modifications :-(....
I might come back to the EuFi desighn sometime ...after I finished the other projects that are on my list :-)
