"Min-Fire": Scratchbuilt sportflyer

Hi, this os an on-going project:
Design-Inspiration from the old modell "Mustfire":
The aim is to produce an ligt stable plane for relaxing slow aerobatics.
I first planned to build this from balsa and make it wery lightwight.
But then i found nice 5 and 10 mm foamboards in an lokal shop so i changed my mind:
It will be flown without landing gear and bellyland in high grass on my lokal field.
I will add an pice of plywood to make it possible to mount landing gear later.

Span: 1660 mm, target weight 1600 gr, 4s/4A Lipo battery.
Drivetrain is from scrapped Muliplex Rockstar:
Covering will be done with vinyl from lokal hardware store.
Rudders is light 10 mm balsa.

Here is some picīs:

Looking good so far, i love your well organised and clean work bench. I hate to see cluttered dirty un-organised work benches.

/s Too.much.organization. /s My shop is not "messy" but contains a much wider variety of stuff than the shop pictured. Being in the USA I also have to deal with two+ measuring standards for tools and components.

I'll bet Mats W is an engineer... Everything in it's place.

The picture only shows a fraction of my hobbyroom but yes, i like to keep things in order.
And yes, i'm an engineer :-)
I was not happy about the match between fuselage and wing.
Built upp suface with thin ply and some scrap balsa.
Then i put epoxy and microbaloons in the gaps.
Also put microbaloons around lower edge of hud to make covering esier.
Turned out nice after sanding.

Covering now in progress:

That's looking great! I like the balsa trailing edge on the wing.

Leeading edge is also balsa...10 X 10 mm.
Gives good strength.
Wing is built up from two cheets of 5 mm foam.
One flat peace in the bottom.
Just put former and wingspar ontop, after that cover with 5 mm sheet.
Servos are installed before covering of course.
Then sanded and aded leeding and trailing edge.
Very easy to build and very good result.
All rudders is massive soft 10 mm balsa.
