Think tank, think on this, Yamato 1/200 guns...

Ok my next 6 month project is a 1/200 scale Yamato R/C model.

It's this model that this gent has built:

http://www.steelnavy.com/NichimoYamatoGrima.htm

Now to the think tank:

Setting up all three Main guns to turn the same direction with out the built in system witch I hear is A) cheezy and B) the aft gun turns counter to the main guns.

My thought is to mount a servo directly under each gun so I can get port and stbd movment from all three, have all three set to the same channel.

Other ideas?

Use 2 servos connected by a "Y" harness. One servo between the two forward guns, the seccond servo connected to the aft gun.

Mmm, tugs...

The Lindberg Fletcher has a cheesy turret animation... one long link bar hits all the turrets, but is only capable of 45 degrees rotation... no broadsides.
I converted it to a single servo running a long stiff wire under 5 turrets and the gun director. To get 90 rotation for broadsides to either beam, I added step-up gearing, see the picture with 2 gears. For the aft turrets, counter-rotation was needed, so I used 3 gears. Works like a charm.
