Bit of a slow builder, I'm afraid. Here's where I'm at at the moment.

I've found this build surprisingly challenging as I'm a fairly experienced modeller and the plan looked so simple. This is my first boat however.

Thanks RocketRob, I'm now at the painting stage with some photo's soon to follow.

I trust that you will make SkiBelle to go with your 1/2cc boat (see post#6)

Thanks guys,

I've bench ran the engine and it seems to be a good runner, probably underpowered. Might have to upgrade to a DC Dart?

I really want something easy and slow as my 6yo grandson is keen to have a go.

Knew there was some video somewhere!

Should the water enter at the bottom of the water-jacket?

That is a good question.....It might help purging any air bubbles and as the water hits the head it would heat up and naturally want to rise toward the outlet? - I think I drank to much coffee this morning......

Without a airplane prop in front blowing the exhaust rearward it looks really cool in the fog of exhaust. I have not run up my Dart Marine yet. How are you pumping water through it - Supply side?

Awesome your grandson has an interest - We need more young model builders.

RocketRob,

The cooling water was supplied using gravity with a head of about 2ft. I think I just used a small plastic container with hole in the bottom. The water feed tube glued and sealed with caulk.

Agree with RocketRob about feeding water from the bottom to insure the cooling jacket is filled completely.

Just got to grease the prop-shaft and go for a test run.

Less than 4 months on this build- pretty good for me!

A great build indeed and nice looking too, almost a shame to dirty it with fuel!
