Initially using a Scorpion 2212-960Kv outrunner, 2s 1300mah lipo and 10x7 APC-SF prop.

A couple of test flights showed that it is aerobatic, but not particularly slow. More testing with different batteries and props might get it to where I want it.
May you calculate the wing area in dm2 please, and tell the exact AUW in gramms?

Thanks. Thats around 15-16gramms per dm2. Try to get below 10g per dm2.

Maybe a bigger wingspan and longer chord will help.

There is a guy on rcgroups which builds light weight 1500mm Slowly's which are pretty slow for outdoor use. Maybe you will find his postings.

I coped around with slowflyers a bit. Most importent thing is a low wing loading. Second is a undercambered wing and the right angle of attack.

Your frame looks pretty light weight but stiff, which is a good thing. I guess you will need a lighter batt, bigger wing and the right angle of attac. Try to save weight where ever you can! Maybe a lighter motor, servo, esc too.
