14.4V for speed 600 8.4V

can i put 14.4V on a speed 600(8.4V)?

As long as you make sure your prop is small enough to limit the amp draw, and that your ESC is rated for 4s. Watch the maximum rpm too - bouncing brushes are not a good thing!

you probably could...and with a prop on it, it wouldnt last long....
Cant you reduce the cell count...or is this a lipo pack....?
even that could be reduced.

ok... i will reduce... put it's not lipo but nicd...
it's actually 2 speed 600 in "parallele", so i must take good nicd to have about 50Amp..
what is the best for 50Amp?

It will be fine on 14v. Assuming its the #3301 or #3316, and assuming its either geared, or running a small prop (6x4 or 7x5)

But you need to be more specific: There are at least 5 models of 'speed 600, 8.4v'

Race #6312
BB SP #6313
BB SP #6309
BB #3316
straight #3310

Two are possibly a bit marginal.

But the rest will do the 20k plus RPM that that sort of voltage implies no problem.

ok.. thanks.. it's #6312..race, so i continue with 14.4V.. but motors will be too hot? no?

on DD a 5,1 x4.5 prop pulls around 30A and is about the limit I'd say. In bursts! Probably over propped even then 4.1x4.1" prop maybe.

But RPM is only 28,000 or thereabouts: That is probably OK.

Best efficiency will be at somethong like 15A or so, so provided you can operate in the sub 20A region it should be OK.

3.5:1 gears and a 10x7 gives a nice sort of power on 12 cells at low 30K RPM.
(9k at the prop)

Its not a question of heat so much - more a question of wherther the brushes and armature can physically take the RPM.

The #6312 looks like a sagami with the open brush gear.

If you have a whattmeter, try it on a small prop - 4x4 or so, and spin it up slowly to see if it starts to get erratic at full power - try and keep the current under 25A - 20A if possible - and get a feel for how hot it gets.

Too hot to touch is OK, over boiling point is too far. wet finger is a good test.

If it can handle the RPM, then its just a question of limiting the current to something sane.

Just about, but neodym magnets ar even more fragile than ferrites. I'd be worried about a motor that was over 100C on the case exterior with neo magnets.

I can't remember the curie point but its not a lot higher than that. Usually the glue softens and the magnete fall off anyway

Cobalt is the magnet that can stand heat. 300C or more.
