Spektrum receiver AR8010T flight pack

New to sport, new to RC and just getting started. Purchasing a Spektrum DX8 Gen 2 With AR8010T receiver and 4 A6150 servos. The plane is a Sig LT 40 Trainer. My question is "does the receiver have its own power battery pack or is a separate flite pack needed. If so, can someone recommend a compatible battery pack for the receiver and servos. I have been all over Spektrum and google and cannot find any discussion of the setup for the receiver in terms of power. Any help is greatly appreciated.

you will need both a battery and a switch. the 6150s are high voltage so if you want to go with a lipo, a 2s 1000mah would be a good place to start. the battery needs to come with a jr style connector, such as is found on Pulse packs. you can also go with LiFe or Nimh chemistry depending what you have for a charger.

You only need one battery. A split power bus is optional , usually on bigger more expensive planes with lots of servos. You do it to prevent a heavy servo load from causing a brown out reset. No need to complicate a trainer setup, keep it simple.

By the way, I tell my students the LT-40 is the best trainer on the planet. Those that have used it, love it.
