Horizon Hobby Electric Civilian Planes for 2020

Since we have a wishlist for HH electric warbirds, I thought we should also have a wishlist for HH electric civilian planes. I'll start.

How about a UMX or 1.5m scale Cessna 180/185 or 336/337?

Post away!

For a business twin - how about a scale Beech King-Air 350 in UMX or 1.5m size - with flaps, plus retracts on the 1.5m? The UMX version could use UMX Aero Commander electronics...

How about an updated version of the impeccable UMX Carbon Cub SS?

A Bellanca Viking with retracts, 1.3-.1.5 size. 3S/4S. Id buy 2 at least! ( and how about a white unfinished version).

How about a Beech 18 civilian version? What a concept!

And ...have a version with floats!

When I was a young teenager, my father and I went on annual fishing trips to Rainy Lake in Canada. The lodge we fished out of was accessible only by boat or air. A really neat place!...and good fishing!

On one trip we rode in what I'm sure was a Beech 18 floatplane. It carried freight and passengers.

We left from Int'l Falls and taxied out onto the lake. Started our takeoff run. Then the strap holding propane tanks to the portside wall broke loose. Several fell, one on my father's leg! We hollered out and the pilot aborted the takeoff. The tanks were re-secured and my father was not hurt. So we took off for a very enjoyable ride.

Would love to have a UMX Beech 18 floatplane!

Civilian planes? Hmm. How about:

- Piper Tomahawk
- Piper Arrow IV (T-tail & retracts!)
- Bowers Fly Baby... biplane (like the full size can convert to a monoplane)

Me being me, I’d want them made from balsa, and sized for 6S packs or larger.

I’d like a 1.2m GeeBee!

I guarentee they wouldn't be able to keep them in stock in a 1.2'ish meter size.

Dual 3S or 4S + floats

I'd happily shell out about $350-$400 but it has to be painted like Matt's

For starters, HH and Mike Patey announced a collaboration at Oshkosh 2019.

Where is Draco & Turbulence?

And yes, Matt Younkin's Beech 18 is a must (Matt is an RC guy too)

Ryan Navion, Ercoupe, Stinson Voyager, Rearwin Speedster, Aeronca Champ, Cessna 170, all around 55 inch wingspan, receiver ready and under $200 with shipping. Installed speed controls must have switch mode BEC's. Models should have flap option at extra cost and good control surface hinging.

Just do Matt Younkin's Beech 18 and you get both a warbird and a civilian plane in one, since his plane was built as a C-45.

Not only would Horizon have their name in a sticker on the side of one of the best airshow acts in the world, but they'd be helping out a great guy and a fellow RCer!

A Beech 18 would be pretty awesome. I’d buy one and repaint as needed.

Obscure, but a Shinn 2150A /Varga Kachina 2150A would be great fun.

A slightly bigger Seabee than the expensive little Robbe offering would be cool if they included retracts.
