LOL! I was looking at that 1 but shipping killed it stone dead again!
Best of luck with it. |

Shipping brought it to $59. Bang Good currently wants $99. Good enough for me.
By the way, I guess the $79 pre-order period is over and the F-16 is $110 shipped with 3 batteries now ($98 + $12 shipping): https://usa.banggood.com/Eachine-Min...5&rmmds=search After experiencing the similar size F-22 and my larger custom MIG-31, the F-16 offering just didn't grab me by the tail. When the T-28 trojan came out I pounced and got the first pre-order in. The plane AND the intro price weren't as attractive this time. Hoping the next release will be a plane with a propeller that is suppose to have a propeller. Doubt we'll ever see a P-38 or some other WWII twin from Eachine, but an A6M Zero, a Spit or a Wildcat would be easy to produce using current methods and electronics. |

Yair, I steered clear of that F16 since it most likely has the same board firmware as the F22. I don't mind flying mine but the fooling around to get it all squared up for a clean launch each time is just a PITA! The A180 is more fun (and makes more noise ) even if I have to glue the nose back on regularly.

The stock packs work fine.
The only thing similar I have found are Dromida 390mAh, but they are getting harder to find: https://www.amainhobbies.com/dromida...de1513/p772710 |

I have several Volantex and Eachine micro birds, and all came with 2 or 3 packs each so have plenty. A few packs have died already due to foolishly forgetting to unplug a pack after flight and putting the plane away with it still plugged in. Or sticking one in a tree only to recover it with a now-dead pack 4 days later.
" For these guys I use 1S USB chargers. My most popular ones are the 3 small 'flash drive-resembling' USB chargers at the from of the picture that have 200mAh and 500Mah charge settings. My 400mAh packs use the 500Mah setting for a "1-and-a-quarter S" charge rate (125% of pack mAh rating). Going slightly above a 1S charge rate is fine. The 500mAh 4-connector chargers are really nice and monitor each pack separately. It has a button on the back that let's you switch between standard 3.7 volt and HV (high voltage) 3.8v charge settings The 6-port charger is still a question mark. I need more time with it and cannot recommend at this moment. It has 200mAh and 600mAh independent settings for each port. The Eflite chargers are fixed at 500Mah and have 2.0 connectors only. None of my chargers have "Losi" connectors like these planes do, so I pick up connectors on eBay cheap and fab my own adapters. 4-port (2.0) https://www.banggood.com/AOKoda-CX40...e=CN&rmmds=buy 1 port (2.0 or 1.25) https://www.banggood.com/1s-Battery-...N&rmmds=search 6-port (2.0 or 1.25) https://www.banggood.com/6CH-USB-3_8...N&rmmds=search |

(From earlier):
score! This one had my name printed all over it. Got a Sport Cub RX right here for it, or maybe something else. Looks like an easy fix to get it airborne again. Quote:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OK , follow-up time. Here's an update: The failed ailerons was traced to an interesting cause. After testing with a known-good servo in place of the stock ailerons servo with no success, I pulled out one of my surplus Eachine transmitters and bound it to the new (used) Cub. All good. Everything works. Problem was a bad TX. I had suspicions because one case screw was loose, the pushbutton AND the 3-position mode switch were loosely mounted and wobbling and the power switch feels funny like it's ready to fail. Glad I have spares form my DSMX conversions. I wish I had noticed the TX was the issue BEFORE I had pulled the wing off and removed the receiver with some difficulty. It would have saved a lot of trouble. It's all good and back together now (see photos). But all things are not happy things. Note the seller's description: "HAS SIGNS OF USE". Does "signs of use" also include a completely broken-off left wing only held in place by a small strip of cellophane transparent tape on the top of the gap and by the wing struts? I only noticed when I saw the end of the shiny, clear tape overlapping the top-left corner of the dull black windshield. Does "signs of use" also include a cowl that shows severe crush/compression lines and a broken cowl from a hard nose-first crash? I expected worn paint and maybe some scuffed wing tips going by the "signs of use" description, not severe crash damage. More like signs of misuse. So I made the repairs, and it look OK now. Some paint work will make it look even better. I have a spare wing if needed. I guess all is well, but I still feel deceived by the seller. Now I see why no actual photos of the plane were posted. That's OK. He/she has a potentially costly "negative feedback" eBay review coming from me for not mentioning that the plane had been crashed hard and had damage like the left wing being broken off. The latter would have fallen off in flight had I not noticed the little strip of clear shipping tape barely holding it on. It was very transparent, but one shiny corner overlapped the dull black windshield and was visible. |

My dear old Ma always said that the first cost was the best cost when buying new rather than fixing up someone else's mistakes with used gear. ;-)
Anyway it's found a sympathetic home at your place mate! :-) |

Ma was right, except in the rare cases like this when it involves people who have fun fixing or improving on things. I sometimes end up with something better than new and not available to the masses. I just think the plane should have sold cheaper for the damage it had, or at least had mention of said damage in the description. All ended well.
All that's left is to get some bright red paint for the fuselage and it should look ALMOST fresh again. Happy flying! |
