Identify this plane

Would someone be able to identify this plane? It appears to be setup for high start.

Oly 650 doesn't have diagonal ribs. I would say the chord is too narrow as well. Nose looks a bit long too. Not sure what it is.

My bet is a 2m Gnome. However the leading edge looks quite flat. Also the wing doesn't have the full polyhedral as the 2m Gnome.

Can you take a close up of the root of the wing? most importantly the leading edge of the wing.

Thanks.

I once bought a small Gnome that was hanging in a hobby shop. The leading edges were square and I mentioned it to the guy, and he said that that's what the plans called for. I wanted to fly right away so I bought some plastic tubing and taped it on. It flew very well.

I always wondered how a hobby shop owner could believe that a glider should have a flat leading edge. I figure he flew it and didn't like it so that's why it was only 50 bux with two servos installed. Got a good deal that time, it was well built with the exception of the L.E.'s.

Definitely not a Gnome, wrong cut on rudder, wrong wing hold down (dowel front, 1/4 screw at t e, wrong taper on tip, Gnome has taper on on te, not le, more taper and shaped canopy block.

I would take that bet if it were a fair one but . . .

Tails wrong, wing tips are wrong and so is the wing attachment.
No balance on a Gnome rudder.

Looks like a Thermal 73 but the hatch should include the upper portion of the nose and slide on, The tail looks identical so does the wing hold down and bulkheads for the push rods

I don’t know what it is, but can say with certainty it’s not a Gnome 2M... that is one of the few sailplanes I’ve built, and I see many definite differences. Whatever it is, the builder should have invested in some sand paper for the leading edge :-)

May the Wind Always be Good
Not a Mini BOT and yes Sandpaper would have been Good
