First construction picture. Loose fit. Things will tighten up with the keel in place.

First few planks in place. Everything looks good so far.

It does look good! Are those planks glued in place, or just clamped to check the lines?

Those planks are in place to show where the bulkheads need to be fared. The builder says this is the best boat he's seen from me so far. There are only two frames that need a little help. All the others fit very nicely and just need faring to the appropriate bulkhead edge.

Okay, that is what I suspected. Just two frames? That is great!

As for beveling the edges, perhaps a miniature ships saw is in order.

Today, the builder sent me a couple of new pictures of the schooner. It looks like everything is going together quite nicely.

People have asked me if I have some planking left over from a previous build. Yes, I do have 6mm x 1mm x 1200mm and 6mm x .7mm x 1200mm in sliced sycamore veneer (quite bendy and excellent for getting around keels and such) and 1/8" x 1/8" x 48" basswood for decks. Please PM me if you're interesting in knowing what I have left.
