Am pretty sure you can do the rims with 3D printing but I can't speak to that.

Tires would require a casting process and there is some good info here:

FWIW, I do silicon castings but try to avoid Smooth On products as they seem to go off
rather quickly.

More info? Just ask.

Are these what you might need. 12'' tall by 7'' wide.

I agree that the costs add up real fast when doing castings.

But the numbers you are likely looking at are from Smooth On.
And a lot of their product is aimed at the "retail" market.'

I have used product from Alumilite and Dow Corning. They seem
more aimed at the industrial user.

I've also used product from Quantum silicones.

http://lcamtuf.coredump.cx/gcnc/ch4/ has more suggestions
if you decide to go this route.

I didn't realize how big 1/4 scale tires were but if I were looking
for for tires this size I would hike down to my local farm equipment
tractor store and check out what they have.

Can you fake it with something close or are you doing a scale build and
trying to keep everything true to the original?

Yeah. I read you.

Too bad you're not wanting some of those 10" garden tractor jobs.
Over the years I've collected "a few" :-) and so far I've only used
two of them on an unfinished go kart project.

Ah! I see you're in the UK.

Don't know much about the model builders situation there but I do know that there
are some good model engineering clubs there. I think they are mostly into steam
but you might ask around and see what they suggest.
