I've had this one sitting on the back burner for a while, and finally got the bug. After checking on a few other threads, and discussing size and such, I made the decision to go forward.

Here's the plan at this point:

Twin EDP-100 (280DD w/ 5x3 prop)
R/E, optional A/E or A/E/R
48"ws
35" length
~340sqin
Hope to be under 12oz
so... 5.1oz/sqin should float well

To answer a few questions right off the bat:

Why 280's, I thought you were a big J-250 fan?
- I have a bunch of 280's left over from building J-250 geared setups, so they are free

Can I use IPS-A drives?
- Sure, a pair of IPS-A's with 8x4.3 props on 3s would be great!

Can I use CD-Rom Motors?
- Yes, but it sure gets expensive with 2 esc's. Maybe YOU can make 2 motors start together, I can't.

Can I use J-250's?
- Sure, use 4x2.5 props, and 10-12A batteries. It'll be prenty powerful!

Why 2 different aileron cutouts?
- Take your pick, scale or simple.

Box or rolled fuse, instead of crutch-style?
- Hey, I'm lazy! I don't know if this thing'll fly! I just don't have the time or energy right now...

Finished up last night....

RTF weight w/ 2s1200 13.3oz... not bad!

Paint takes 2-3 times as long as the rest of the build!

Will fly tonight indoors

It's looking for a cool plane, I might go with the ips-a motor on it, not sure yet. I am too soar after paintball to do anything anyway.
BTW: What are you using for landing gear?

Ooops, I guess I did forget to explain the landing gear...

I used 2 pieces of LitePly, 1/8x2x3", and some .078" wire. I drilled a hole for a 'torque anchor', and lashed the wire down with some floss. I'll add it to the drawings some time. I hot glued the ply plates to the bottom of the wing, and wrapped soeme tape around the LE for good measure.

Oh yea...

Notice the blue masking tape on the motors? That's so I can hot glue them in place. I don't know if you've tried, but hot glue doesn't stick to metal parts worth a darn. It must have to heat up the surfface of the part it's sticking to to be effective, and the metal must 'sink' the heat away too quick... anyway, it doesn't stick. So, the tape gives some surface for the glue. Otherwise, use epoxy...
