Red, what primer are you using? Please don't say Rustoleum... This stuff has been the best rattle-can primer I've come across. I haven't tried it as an in-mold coating just yet, but it certainly cures better than all the other usual suspects; Krylon, Rustoleum, etc...

You can sometimes find it on Amazon and local auto paint stores too.

Hi Troy,

I am using the SEM stuff. I just got it too hot being impatient lol. I get it from my local paint supply store....

Round 2 of the cowl molds are being recut because of my impatience. The good news is I can cut recut the same mold deeper, so I just lose time and effort. The canopy molds are in process as well. These are bing done the traditional way. Gelcoat over a plug and then fiberglass cloth and resin.

Canopy molds are complete. Not perfect but good enough. Next up is polishing then wax for a part.

I found a few bubbles in the gelcoat of the canopy mold that I wasn't happy with. I've filled them and am in the process of polishing them, so no canopy part yet.

I was able to get most of the radio gear installed though and get a rough weight. The class minimum is 3.5 lbs., I'm sitting about 2.9 lbs. without a cowl or canopy so I'm sure I'll be adding lead. Thats with metal gear servos too! Glad its light but hate adding unecessary weight to a racer lol.

After my impatience causing the issues with the cowl mold, I just decided to recut it, so itís complete now. I have some 2 part primer Iíll try to put on it this weekend if itís warm enough. Supposed to snow here in the desert on Thanksgiving lol.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Probably not going to able to spray any primer for a while. I guess the warm weather gone for a while.
