Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 4250-350KV


This motor is rated 4S to 5S. At 350 kv it's a good candidate to be pushed to 8S (2 x 4S on hand) . If I stay below the Amp. and Watt ratings, is it a good idea ?
I have a Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 4250-500KV pushed to 6S that worked perfectly for hundred's of flights. The rpm of a 350kv. on 8S will be about the same as my 500kv on 6S , the same speed to the bearings.

I'd try it. You've covered all the significant points with current, power and rpm.
The spec voltage range is more a suggested use than a rating as the voltage itself in terms of insulation is not an issue at any feasible cell count. It's only the effects of voltage in conjunction with Kv and prop size that matters, not the voltage of itself.
The suggested voltage ranges many vendors publish imo are often short-sighted and undermine the flexibility of electric motors to operate at a wide range of input voltages.

the pending question is the propeller , which will provide the mechanical load to take the specified amount of power at the pitch speed and thrust that your model needs.

I will try it, my goal is to get a light set up for a small F3A plane. I should get a standard RPM and thrust for the discipline, with the help of my watts-meter of course.
