Question

Prop adapter for 3/8" shaft

I'm looking for a collet style prop adapter that will mount a prop on a 3/8" motor (or gearbox) shaft. I believe Astro Flight used to make them, but they no longer do.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

If it flies, I can crash it.

Does it have to be a collet adapter? The adapter type that locks on with a grub screw can probably be had in something close, like 8mm, and then easily drilled by hand with a 3/8" bit. You'd just have to file a flat spot on the shaft for the grub to bite.

You might be able to drill out a collet adapter if you clamp it down really tight. But you'll want a sharp bit and a high drill speed and a slow plunge rate.

3/8s is 9.5mm. I don't think an 8mm collet will seat properly over a shaft that's almost 20% larger.
