I also added solid C/F rod to the main C/F spar so that the wing hold clamps wont damage the spar.

Here are some more pictures of my Draken. Wings are glue in place. Servos, retracts, Byron fan w/Talon 120 ESC install. Wings are being glassed with fuselage. Next install outbd control surfaces and tie them to inbd control surface.

Look really nice Bob.
I put the 65 mm tires on mine and i had another style JP nose strut with a shorter "blue" spring so i swapped out the "yellow " spring, ill post a pic later of the stance, but should reduce the AoA of the nose and raise the aft end up a bit.
Pat we have to move the nose gear mount up to lower the nose a bit. Where is yours sitting?

Madien flight date???

So looking ahead to a madien date that works for the Test pilot, project manager, manufacturer, power plant specialist, and friends
I feel it best to use a lake bed for the madien, and i think Justin's rabbit dry lake is a good choice as it closer to project manager Pat. A longer drive for Test pilot Brent, and manufacturer Me.
I need to do this on Saturday the 7th or 14th if that works for all involved. Weather in lucerne valley would be 76* with 8mph winds out of the WNW.
Justin if you could keep an eye out on the weather and and lakebed conditions and traffic out there. Is the gun range active? Ect.
Let me know what you think Pat,Brent,Gary(Efflux RC power plant specialist) Justin, and anybody else that would like to come.
I have a few things to button up,and hope Brent has time to tune the ESC.
Let me know what you guys think.

I was thinking I'd like to try to get out there for the maiden. Thanks for the heads up. Keep us posted on the date.

11/7 works better for me than 11/14, but only because we have our club/board meetings on the 14th. But if it winds up being the 14th, I can skip the meetings.

I'll drive over Friday after work and stay at a hotel in Apple Valley, then meet up with you guys at the lakebed Saturday morning.

Either date should work fine for me Roger. I'll watch the weather and related conditions for you and give reports as we get closer. Early morning is always best, as for the gun range its not on the lakebed at all so no concerns there. I do believe its active so you will likely hear them off in the distance but thats it.

70mm tires wont fit. I had to sand some of the opening for the 65mm to fit. Id have to move the retract units inboard . Also not sure 70mm tires would fit with the wheels that fit 60 & 65mm tires

Mark yeah please come if your ready. We can make a mini event out of it.

The 70mm tires will not fit the 65mm size rims. The 70mm Brakewheel design will require a whole different strut mounting method. They are not the same design as the 45 thru 65mm sizes.
