I just tried it. Secured the clamp with some 6/32 socket-head bolts and there is still enough "give" in the clamp to tighten around the rod.

They seem like it Rodger. All they really need to do is keep the spar from sliding out. The spar and alignment rod will already pass through two formers on the inside of the fuse, so they will be secure.

Here's how it all fits together.

Were those parts included in the cut files you sent me?

Most of those are only partials of bulkheads 4 through 8, that's why they look weird. I only had a small sheet of ply for the sample cut, so I was not able to get the full bulkheads cut out.

I could tell the bulkheads were partials. But are the pieces that the spar is supported with included?

So today Brent helped me pull a couple of canopies for test fitting, now i need to make a mold that will make up a fiberglass piece that we can cut out any canopy frame to add detail.

Rodger,

Any word back yet from your laser cutter? I can get the files cut here if necessary, I'd just have to get some 1/8 birch stock.
