Beginner Scratch Build

Hey Guys, i'm a total beginner wanting to have a go at a balsa build from scratch.
I have seen multiple posts regarding balsa kits for beginners but i would prefer to start from scratch.
Is there any models/ plans that you would recomend for my first build(s) ?
Open to any suggestions, rubber band, RC its all good, i just enjoy the process of learning and building.
Thanks

Buy an older comet rubber power free flight kit. Basically scratch building with everything included in the box and cheap if you shop around.

Beginner RC:
There is an old model by the name of the Gym Swallow that was an easy build and which flew well, the plans should be available online.

It had a single surface, constant chord wing, stick built tailfeathers (I did them in foam sheet) and a dowel fuselage stick.

Rubber power: Maybe a Blatter 40?
