FoamTini - Sub 250g FPV Wing

This is my Sub 250g Wing. Based on similar plank style planes like the Nano Goblin, Nano Drak, and E-Wings Vortini.

This is my first time designing a plane myself. Very happy with the results. It flies great, especially for being Sub 250g.

Flight video:
Good Morning FoamTini Sub250g (2 min 39 sec)

Design and Build Instructions:
FoamTini - Building a Sub250 FPV Wing (30 min 32 sec)

Plans and iNav config are attached.

3d printer parts (motor mount and Caddx Tarsier mounts)

Very nice project, inexpensive too.

My FPV buddies just paid $250 for something similar in a 'kit only' EPO design.

well done

I might just build this one while the wait continues for RMRC to do a new run of Nanogoblins

I don't know how many of my Wings I'd be brave enough to do this. However, I can do a nice loop with this plane right through a soccer goal!

Finally got some footage in the air thanks to a fellow pilot. Few other airplanes in this video but some great shots of the FoamTini in the air.

This is my layout for MPF foam.

I intend to cut myself one of these for personal use.
It will be CNC cut from MPF with routed pockets - depicted in Green.
Cutouts in Red

As long as I have the work done I am sharing this layout with the group.

I currently have GPW's Horten FW and a 2M Crossbow as well.
Flew both this very PM.
Plus I just got ALL of the Zeta wings 840 61 and 79

Always been a FW devotee

This might also get some additional attention if posted in the FW Forum

Good idea. I posted it there as well. Hope the plane flies well for you.

Well these pix were all displayed correctly when I viewed them on my PC

Oh well ...

Here they are, such as they are, sigh ...........

The Pocketing turned out a little deeper than I had expected but still usable.

Have to get busy assembling late this week. yeeaahh !

I am suspicious about the Thickness of MPF.
As it's a little less than the 6mm that we USED TO GET with depron.
It not a real problem and I LIKE the resilience of MPF MUCH better.

But, it seems as though there are NOT enough "Middle" parts for the Fuselage
to add up to the width of the fuse as it's currently designed.

Consequently, I will be adding several of the interior parts to my layout
in order to make the width "workable", adjustable & personalize able.
Likely 2-4 "sets" of symmetrical parts. see new pdf

Could we have some closeups of you motor installation , Please ?

Is the TE of the FUSE a DownThrust angle for the motor to be mounted flush against ?

What prop are you using ?
I assume something like an AVAN 3 2.4 3 blade .
But I am open to suggestions :^}

LIPO is a 2s or 3s or 4s 850maH pak ? correct ?

That thickness variance could be a problem. You should be able to just add one more camera cutout fuse piece unless that will make your camera area too wide. You could even bypass using the camera cutout fuse pieces and just make as many of the rounded nose fuse pieces as you want, and cutout the camera area later once the fuselage is assembled.

If you care about sub-250 you'll have to be careful with any foam additions. If not then have at it. I intended this to be built with 12 fuse pieces when I initially designed it, cut down to 10 after cutting them out and getting the weights.
