Quique Somenzini - Foam Yak 54?

I was just watching the SEFF 2004 video and there is a part with Quique talking about his own design and that E-flite would be selling it last fall. Anyone know anything about his design? In the Video he comments that is is built with a box fuselage for strength. Wingspan is 33" and runs on a Hacker B20.

Thanks,
Palmetto

I asked about this plane a few months ago. Jason at horizon told me they would release the kit sometime late spring. Sorry thats all the info I have. Guess we just need to keep our eyes open for it.

Quique mentioned that you would be selling a small electric Yak on another message board. However I got the impression that he would be selling it through his own company.

It would be great if Horizon sells this. I bought the 72" Yak from Quique's company - great service and great quality, but by the time I got it shipped to Canada it cost me almost $600.

I will most likely buy Quique's electric Yak no matter who releases the kit.

Hello, Jason M is a Horizon representive and he does a great job supporting E-Flight customers here on the E-Zone.

I'm not sure why but that airframe screams "precision" to me. That looks to be an airplane worth waiting for.

Keep an eye open for EF to possibly release an electric yak at Toledo. don't know it for a fact, but they are releasing something at toledo that's electric and they are the king of yaks in my book.

Glad to hear I’m not the only one who thinks this way. Quique’s segment on the SEFF 2004 “Electric Revolution” says it all. He explains in detail how he got to this design after several proto types. This plane was designed and build within the 2 weeks before eTOC. (according to the video).

I’ll be at SEEF 2005 and hopefully something more will be out about it by then.
