Arado E.555 German WWII jet bomber

Somehow I came across pictures of this experimental German long range bomber. The Arado company responded to a government request for a long range bomber to bomb the US mainland! Fortunately they were never built.

But I thought it looked like an interesting design and decided to make my own. I wasn’t sure if and how it fly but what the heck, it’s just foamboard and glue. I used DTFB and hot glue. I found a 3 view and used that for shape and dimensions.
Wingspan 31”
Weight sans battery 385 gms
Kfm2 wing with support strut
Dual rudders
Inboard elevons
Emax MT 2204 2300 kV motor with 6” prop pusher configuration
No EDF! Haven’t got into that stuff yet

Maiden already done without video, but next flight will be recorded and posted

Oh yeah, by the way, don’t launch a pusher by holding the fuse. I thought I knew that.

Those darn houses always seem to get in the way!

Nice job on the Arado. Flies real nice. Sorry about the finger.

Thanks. All that empty space over the soybean field and the plane has to hit my house. Go figure
Launching turns out to be a little tricky, it likes to turn left. And the elevons don’t do much. Turns need strong rudder.

Thanks. I have been flying it more and I think got it dialed in now. Needed a little more elevon throw and better launching. It certainly is a unique shape flying up there.

Yeah, it seriously is! But that's what I like most about it. That, and it looks like it flies awesome.

I thought the purpose of bombers were to use their bombs to blow up the buildings, not crash into them to bring em down..... Plane looks cool and appears to be pretty durable too.

Well, the bomber was just trying to perform its designated duty (fly), and the damn house practically stuck it’s foot out and tripped it! It wasn’t designed to function as a kamikaze.

Since that mishap I’ve managed to dodge vertical solid objects
