Looking at 2.30N70 I cannot find a RADIO/TOOLS menu.
Too soon? or not in Companion, just on radio? or where explicitly should I look?

It is only on the radio, one of the radio tab

I took a look and there are ....19 and ....20 SD card contents for some models - what is the story there?

Normally you will need the latest version.

Yoiu are right, need to have a look at that, but basicaly you have one per size of LCD (ie it is the same for lets say x7 and x9 lite)

Just because the build process puts a new one anytime needed and older versions are left there.

The issue was that some shortcuts where missing for 20, so it looked like there was a 19 pack for much more radios that for the 20 packs. That's fixed

Spotted an issue with Taranis x9d+ companion both in daily 70 and 71 (today) version on Mac. I am using v20 sd card contents, and if I go into radio menu on simulator and to the new tools page, I see the tools listed for a few moments (think there are 4 or 5 scripts listed) then the screen blinks and those lines are replaced by a single line in slot 1 showing 2-3 characters of corrupt text. If I page back to SD card browser screen, I see it blank instead of the SD card contents.
