Official OpenTX version 2.3 Discussion Thread

Good morning everyone!

As we are moving forward towards the 2.3 release, more tests are needed. As of now, all the supported targets have been opened to the nightlies and it seems we already have something working quite nicely.

There are still a couple of minor things to come, but the binary format is now settled, Companion and all the radio firmwares should be working with it (including proper conversions from 2.2.x). The times have come to now fix everything we can find and finalise the release.

As this is still in beta state, it is a good idea to backup everything you have on 2.2 before testing on the 2.3 branch. For those already on nightlies (new radios), doing backups is still a good idea, so you can always revert to the previous working state in case something slips through the QA.

http://www.open-tx.org/2019/05/17/2.3-nightlies

Please remember that you have to configure "Use nightly builds" in Companion (Settings / Application settings).

Is there some documentation on this:

* Introduction of virtual navigation keys

I am prepared to create some proper documentation, if I get some stuff to start with.

This is I have for now: https://github.com/opentx/opentx/pull/6500
Hope it's enough to grasp the essence.

Hi All,

I'm testing the nightlies build 2.3.0 N70 on my Taranis X9-Lite with Vantac MPM Lite module attached:
My Whoops are
Beta75 Pro 2
Bee Brain v2
Bee Brain Lite
Working like a charm

Credits to the OpenTX Dev Team that have gotten 2.3 thus far. Without your Dev work, my radio would have been shelved. Thank you.

Nice. Almost an exact copy of my Lua event handler to manage it myself, that I use up till now.

Where should I enter the documentation? Is the auto-generated documentation still working?

Using all the events that would get passed usually to LUA script, except those that are used on the main screen view. Once I have some code, you can probably test and give me some feedback.

Some more items for the list:

2 new radios supported:
- X10 Express
- X9D+ 2019

On Bluetooth front there is the selection of the device to connect to, increased refresh rate (by a factor of 2)

Screenshots on X10 / X12S

That's all I have in mind now
