ok.
some thinking about the upward thrust angle
of the exhaust of this mirage.

The motor of My Wattage Mirage 2000 requires some upward thrust angle, it is a pusher. Also it
requires some reflexes on the ailevons.

So I guess this Mirage has some good built in
upward thrust angle, then without any
modifications It will not need any reflexes on the
ailevons at all. All of my delta wing jets with
straight exhaust do need some reflexes on the
ailerons. This stock mirage might need no reflex
on its ailevons at all.

Just a thought.

Seems like keeping the large amount of upthrust and no reflex would make the throttle the primary pitch control. I would prefer to use the elevons for pitch. But there probably is an optimum combination of both. That may be why they recommend the vectoring nozzle.

I have the FlyFly Mirage and the thrust is straight out the back. With the CG I fly with there is no deflection in the flight controls to maintain level and no appreciable throttle/pitch coupling. I think this kit has gone way too far by angling the nozzle up.
Good thing it is foam and easy to correct.

Yep. Mine too. Had an old G&C 64mm Mirage once, it was straight aligned. And, of course, the Freewing is also. Cannot see any cause to have angled this up the way it is; even with vectoring. All that will do is induce some pressure/velocity loss when straightening out the exhaust stream for flat and level flight.

Nope, think John has it right with his printed collar. Mine will simply get cut for re-alignment as I still live in the 20th century.

I am still working on the print parameters to get a little bit of warpage out of the wedge. You can see it in the picture. It works but leaves a gap. A little work on a belt sander could make it better. So if anyone is interested in the green parts, I would let you have them for the cost of shipping.

I agree with 4Stripes and Pikestaff on the thrust angle.

Now I wonder if there is something off with the leading edge of this Mirage. Like Pikestaff also mentioned earlier, the bottom of the wing is almost completely flat, unlike the almost symmetrical LE for FF or FW Mirage.

Just take a look at my wattage Mirage 2000 pusher.
Flat bottom wings, has upward motor and
needs reflex ... very similar to this mirage.

wonder if those Chinese flyers modified
their mirage like we do ? Those dudes
are weird... very poor with communication.

seems there are two versions of
this mysterious Mirage :-)

And The mirage we are buying is not
the mirage they tested in videos :-(
Maybe what we got is the prototype :-(

Mmmmm.....

I wonder. None were hurting for thrust..... the ones we got surely will without mods. Theirs all have gear doors - something they added?

They look the same. Wonder where they set CG? - the 80mm had the batt in the cockpit.

Questions, questions.
