SoCal F3F @ Grass Mtn.---August 25

SCSR will host an F3F competition at Grass Mountain this coming Sunday, August 25. Conditions at Grass have been excellent as we are in the middle of the classic hot desert-on shore flow season. We had flights in the 39s just yesterday.

This event has the further benefit of being the practice and plane-tuning opportunity right before the F3F Team Select at Grass on September 6-8.

Please sign up via this Vault link: https://f3xvault.com/?action=event&f...&event_id=1646 And comment on this RCG thread.

See you this weekend for some excellent fast flying.

Schedule

Today, the wind prediction for Acton on Sunday is WSW. But the wind prediction for Santa Clarita on Sunday is South at 24MPH.

In general Grass has shown pure South for the last 48 hours during daylight hours.

I would like to hold the Pilots' Meeting at 1130AM, and begin the runs right after. Arrive earlier and get in any test flights before that time.

Twas a good day. Lots of flying and good times. Flies were annoying, but they only seemed to be a problem back behind the slope in the area of dead wind. Hope they are gone for the team selects.

Looking forward to the team selects.

Thanks to all who flew today and the good spirits all around.
Results, thanks to Tim Traver, are available here: https://www.f3xvault.com/?action=eve...&event_id=1646

Good practice in flying in variable conditions. Next up is the Team Selects at Grass in 2 weeks'

Congrats to Warren, Tim and Brandon, who would have been on the podium if we had one.
