I don't think you even need a shell. She almost looks like an Apache as is, due to all those radar anti reflection surfaces

JPF, you are so handsome!

A few build notes:
  • Be aware that the plastic surrounds for the servos wont fit all servos. Some may require the small plastic 'bridge' that goes over the servo to be removed.. This doesnt effect function at all.
  • The motor mount on my prototype (may have changed on production models?) was drilled for M3 screws, which will be ok for smaller motors. My Scorpion needed M4 so i drilled them out, this is very easy.
  • The manual i was using (early version) suggested cutting the motor wires short. I do not recommend doing this as they are very hard to re-solder. The standard wires fit just fine, so no need to do it.
  • Use CA glue on the balls that screw into plastic. Only gently tighten to avoid stripping threads, the CA prevents them coming out so no need to be very tight.
  • Take care not to over-tighten the tail blade bolts, if you do it can cause the plastic tail grips to crack.
the sell have tell me not overtighten the tail bolts,
i am use hobby wing 120a

12S 120A is overkill for a 550. 80A would be fine.

I fly a trex550 even on 6S with an 80A ESC, but that's with a big heatsink. it has worked fine for many flights.

The Hobbywing 120A is a low voltage ESC. 6S maximum, it cant be used with 12S batteries.

Your choices in the Hobbywing range are the Platinum Pro 130A HV , same as I'm using (which would be overkill but would work fine) or the 100A HV V3.

The 100A HV V3 would be fine, but doesnt have a BEC so you would have to run a seperate HV BEC, which is a little inconvenient (something like the Castle Creations BEC Pro or the Hobbyking YEP 20A HV BEC). You also dont get telemetry out of the V3, if that was something you were wanting?
