Orcrist 2.5m

In 2018 I designed and built an aerobatic slope soarer based on the Excalibur of Eric Poulain. I had hoped to be able to create a professional looking set of plans but it does not look like I'll be getting the time to do that. So I'm sharing the plans as they are. From this you should be able to create a model should you choose to do so. The fuselage is a basic balsa box with ply formers. The wing is foam with a balsa skin.
I chose to use the SC17/SC17s wing sections having procrastinated between SB96V/VS and TP42/29. It was an easy decision since the SC17/s is a blend of the sections I was torn between. You can read more about these aerofoils here. I cannot say whether this section performs better or worse than the SB or TP sections, but I'm pleased with the results so far.

I'm not the best pilot (not the worst either). The Orcrist is more capable than me.

The ship looks and flies great Mike. I love the performance of the SC17 foil. You made a great choice, and 1600 gram AUW is spot on. A+

P.S. - Would it be OK with you if I shared this video on SlopeAerobatics.com? I think it's fantastic.

Iron on film is used, the cheap Hobbyking stuff. I cut the pieces and have a 5mm (or so) overlap between colours. Lettering is from a vinyl cutter.

covering

Thanks a lot to both of you !

I was not sure covering film was used, because I did'nt see any 'bubles' on overlaps, and also I did'nt see any "wood vein" thru the decoration...

Small overlaps allow a bubble-free join. And a new covering iron helps with a smooth finish.
